Delta Reign Is Coming: Let’s Open Some Packs Together

Okay, Pokémon friends—we have a very good reason to clear a Friday evening. Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign arrives November 6, and we’re celebrating at Purple Dragon Games with two chances to get together, open packs, and discover what this expansion has waiting for us. There will be deck building. There will be battles. And yes, there will be pizza.

If you’ve seen the giant green dragon across the promotional artwork, you already know who’s bringing the storm. Mega Rayquaza ex is taking center stage, joined by Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex, and Mega Golisopod ex. That lineup alone gives us plenty to look forward to, whether you collect your favorite Pokémon or immediately start wondering what kind of deck you can build around them.

And honestly? Discovering a new set together is half the fun. Someone opens something exciting across the table. Everyone leans over to look. Suddenly, the person who said they were “just browsing” is talking about their next deck.

Friday, October 30: Delta Reign Prerelease

4–8pm | $34.99 per player | Pizza included

Want to play a whole week before the November 6 release? This is your night. Purple Dragon Games is an official Play! Pokémon location, and our prerelease gives local Trainers an early opportunity to open and play with the new expansion.

You’ll start with a Build & Battle Box containing four Delta Reign booster packs and a ready-to-play 40-card deck, including one of four foil promo cards. Open your packs, see what catches your attention, and customize your deck before playing fellow Trainers. Prerelease games use 40-card decks and four Prize cards, making this a fun change of pace from the usual format.

You don’t need to arrive with a finished competitive deck. The starting point is in your box, and the fun comes from figuring out what to do with it. Your cards are yours to take home afterward, along with whatever new deck ideas follow you out the door.

Friday, November 6: Delta Reign Release-Day Draft

4–8pm | $25 per player | Pizza included

Release day means another chance to gather around the tables, this time for a draft. You’ll choose cards from event booster packs and pass the remaining cards around the table, gradually building your own selection. Once the drafting is finished, you’ll turn those picks into a deck and try it against the other players. Drafting adds a little suspense to every decision.
