WINTER FEASTS – Cooking, Crafting & Culinary Chaos

Kitchen Rush

Play Time: 30–45 minutes

Players: 2–4

Game Type: Real-time cooperative restaurant simulation

Complexity: Medium

Theme: Running a bustling kitchen under time pressure

Overview:

Kitchen Rush is a frantic, real-time cooperative game where players run a restaurant by placing sand timers as their workers. Every action—chopping, cooking, serving, cleaning—requires precise timing, coordination, and communication. It’s a culinary scramble that captures the chaos of a real kitchen line, making it a standout for players who enjoy quick decisions and teamwork.

What Makes It Unique:

Because workers are literal sand timers, you must wait for them to empty before they return—creating natural bottlenecks that feel authentically stressful and hilarious. Multiple rounds bring new challenges like ingredient shortages, picky customers, and balancing finances.

How It Works:

Players use timers to perform tasks: acquiring ingredients, preparing dishes, cooking them, serving guests, and cleaning plates. Each round is a short burst of real-time action where the group rushes to complete orders before time expires. Meeting goals earns money and upgrades for future rounds. Victory depends on planning, communication, and keeping the kitchen from descending into chaos.

Sushi Go!

Play Time: 15–20 minutes

Players: 2–5

Game Type: Card drafting, set collection

Complexity: Easy

Theme: Building delicious sushi plates through rapid drafting

Overview:

Sushi Go! is a fast and inviting drafting game where players pass hands of cards representing sushi dishes, each with its own scoring pattern. It’s quick to learn, fun at all skill levels, and ideal for showcasing the “feast” theme with its charming art and simple tactical choices.

What Makes It Unique:

The entire strategy hinges on reading what your opponents might take next. Tempura requires pairs, Nigiri interacts with Wasabi, and Puddings matter only at game’s end. Decisions are small but satisfying, and each round feels like assembling a perfect plate under pressure.

How It Works:

Players simultaneously select one card from their hand, reveal it, then pass the rest. This continues until all cards are drafted. Points are scored for combos like sets, pairs, majorities, or high-value bites. Three rounds create a rhythm of adapting to what others draft and predicting what will make it back to you. Simple rules, big replay value.

Chocolate Factory

Play Time: 60–90 minutes

Players: 1–4

Game Type: Engine-building, conveyor production, resource management

Complexity: Medium–High

Theme: Running a chocolate production line and fulfilling orders

Overview:

Chocolate Factory places players in charge of a working confectionery plant. A conveyor belt moves ingredients through modular machines, and players add stations to upgrade cocoa into truffles, bars, and specialty sweets. The joy of the game is watching your production engine evolve from a modest setup to a humming, efficient chocolate machine.

What Makes It Unique:

The conveyor system is one of the most satisfying production mechanics in board gaming. Each day brings new machines and employees to hire, creating countless combinations of upgrades. Orders range from simple treats to high-value specialty boxes, pushing players to optimize timing and machine placement.

How It Works:

Each round, players draft new machines and staff, then run their factory for the day. Ingredients move step-by-step along the conveyor, transforming as they encounter machines. Finished chocolates can be sold to shops or used to complete large orders. Points come from fulfilling contracts, maximizing efficiency, and using clever machine layouts. Planning and engine synergy are essential for victory.
