Step into an evening of unexpected combinations, surprise plays, and Magic with a Halloween twist! All Leylines’ Eve brings together randomly selected booster packs from different Magic sets for a Chaos Draft. Your $25 ticket includes the packs you’ll draft with, Round Table pizza, and friendly games against other local players. You’ll build your deck during the event, so there’s no need to bring a prepared deck or own a collection to participate. Everyone takes home the cards they draft, and participating players receive a Leyline of Anticipation promo card to keep, while supplies last.

The chaos begins with the packs themselves. Instead of everyone drafting the same set, players receive a random selection of boosters from our event assortment. The selection stays a surprise until you’re seated, following WPN’s recommendation. Each pack can introduce different creatures, mechanics, and possibilities. You might discover cards that work beautifully together despite coming from entirely different sets, or change your plans when an unexpected card reaches you. Flexibility is part of the fun: watch what comes around the table, look for useful combinations, and let your deck take shape as you draft.

We’ll use the traditional one-card-at-a-time Booster Draft process. Each player starts with three boosters and opens the first pack, chooses one card, and passes the remaining cards to the left. You then choose a card from the pack passed to you and continue until those packs are exhausted. For the second booster, everyone repeats the process while passing to the right. For the third booster, the direction switches back to the left. The cards you select become your personal pool for deckbuilding. You keep your selections rather than simply keeping the contents of the packs you originally opened.

After drafting, you’ll build a deck containing at least 40 cards using your drafted cards and basic lands. Your unused drafted cards form your sideboard, giving you options to adjust your deck between games. A practical starting point is approximately 23 spells and 17 lands, with adjustments based on your cards and mana needs. Choose creatures that help you develop your board, spells that answer opposing threats, and a mana base that reliably supports your colors. A focused deck can be stronger than one trying to squeeze in every exciting card you picked.

Then comes the event’s special twist: every player begins each game with their Leyline of Anticipation promo already on the battlefield! This enchantment lets you cast spells as though they had flash, opening the door to creatures and other normally slower spells appearing at unexpected moments. The promo sits outside your deck and does not count toward its 40-card minimum. You don’t need to draw it or pay its mana cost to begin the game with it in play. You still pay the normal costs for the spells you cast.

That changes how you approach a match. You could wait until an opponent’s turn to introduce a creature, keep mana available while deciding how to respond, or reveal a threat after your opponent has committed to a play. Your opponent has the same opportunity, so an empty battlefield or untapped lands can hide plenty of surprises. The Leyline changes spell timing; it doesn’t make spells free, grant creatures haste, or change when you can normally play lands. Think carefully, watch your opponent’s available mana, and enjoy the suspense of discovering what happens next.

All Leylines’ Eve is a casual event centered on creative deckbuilding and enjoyable games. Expect unusual matchups, opportunities to try unfamiliar cards, and plenty to talk about over Round Table pizza, included with your ticket. Experienced drafters can explore a fresh challenge, while players newer to drafting can discover the format alongside our community.

Every participating player receives their Leyline of Anticipation promo, while supplies last, regardless of their results. Purple Dragon Games will also offer additional prize support for wins, with the prize breakdown announced before play begins.
