Welcome to Hyperia City, where the music is loud, the streets are magical, and somebody at your table is absolutely going to take the card you wanted.

Join us at Purple Dragon Games on Hyperia City’s wider release day for a Disney Lorcana Draft Night! We’ll open fresh packs, build decks on the spot, play some games, and share pizza while we find out what this new set can do.

How does a draft work?

Everyone opens a pack, chooses one card, and passes the rest to the next player. Then you choose a card from the pack passed to you. Pick, pass, repeat: by the end, you’ve assembled a collection of cards and must turn it into a playable deck.

It sounds simple until you’re torn between a card that fits your plan and a Coco character you love too much to pass along. Draft decks have a 40-card minimum, and you can use cards from any number of ink colors. You don’t need to bring a deck; you build yours during the event. We’ll walk everyone through the process before the first pack goes around.

Draft is one of the most entertaining ways to get to know a new set because every choice tells a little story. Maybe you set out to build a careful ink-drop strategy. Maybe three picks later, the city has handed you a parade of musicians, princesses, and one suspiciously useful side character. The fun is spotting connections as cards come your way, making a plan, and watching that plan encounter another player’s equally improvised masterpiece.

A night out in Hyperia City

This set brings the glimmers of Disney and Pixar’s Coco to Lorcana for the first time, filling the Marigold District with music. Elsewhere, familiar Disney faces explore a city of lively neighborhoods and hidden trouble. Hyperia City also introduces ink drops, a one-time-use ink resource that could make for some wonderfully dramatic draft turns. “I can play that already?” is a perfectly reasonable thing to hear across the table.

And yes, pizza is included with your ticket. Even the busiest Illumineer should take a break between adventures. Come for the new packs, stay for the games, the good company, and the possibility that your most questionable draft pick becomes the hero of the night.
